Before I begin, I would like to wish you, my beautiful reader, a Happy November! And what better way to start the month having the weekend so close?

The weekend is usually the only time I get to exercise thoroughly and so I decided to share these 10 fun and easy fitness tips that work for me. I hope it works for you too.

HAIR CONDITIONER, HAIR MOISTURIZER AND SEALANT : Coconut oil which is rich in fatty acids is one of the few oils that can both double as a moisturizer and sealant as it penetrates deep within the shaft and provides conditioning properties to weak, damaged and overly processed hair. This oil can also be used as a daily moisturizer to strengthen all textures from straight to wavy, curly, coily and even kinky hair.

I have also experimented with using coconut oil as a cleanser and I can swear by this method as it leaves my skin feeling moisturizer and balanced. SOOTHES SKIN CONDITIONS: Coconut is a great moisturizer for all skin types including sensitive skin. It is also known to rid the skin of acne and blackheads and is strongly advised to be used as a night cream over other chemical concoctions as it is known to slow down the aging process and prevent premature aging. Coconut oil can also be used in preventing stretch marks during and after pregnancy.

BEAUTY FLUID: Coconut oil can be used in place of lip balm to soften and moisturize lips and is great in manicure as it helps keep the cuticle soft therefore improving nail growth.

SCRUBS AND EXFOLIANTS: Coconut oil is a great addition to home-made scrubs as it increases exfoliation effectiveness while being gentle at the same time. It is also a wonderful additive to foot scrubs because it has anti-fungal properties. (New post coming soon on home-made scrubs recipes).

D.I.Y SPA OIL: Coconut oil is perfect for massaging the skin and good for aroma-therapy. It can also be used after shaving to soothe razor cuts and burns.

SUNSCREEN: The natural sunscreen properties of coconut oil prevents burns and injury before and after sun exposure  as it has SPF 13. This however doesn’t mean that you should skip sunscreen (yes, You!).

COOKING:  Coconut oil is great in cooking as an oil with a high smoke point. Great for baking, stir-frys or as a diary free replacement to butter which lowers cholesterol and enables you keep up a healthy body weight. Coconut oil is also rich in Vitamin D and can be swallowed as a supplement.

1. Tone up doing Cardiovascular exercises (aerobics) such as running, jogging, walking, skipping etc.

 

2. Improve your posture and balance by practicing Yoga and Pilates frequently.

 

3. Keep hydrated with water. stay away from carbonated drinks and soda.
