The Chanel collection this season, inspired by an antique German paint chart is filled with texture and character with elements of Ivy League Preppiness and rebellious non-nonchalance thrown in the mix.
The collection featured well-worn cashmere knit, tweed and acid-wash denim fabrics with just a hint of lace. Colors adopted in this collection include varying pink shades, navy, as well as muted tones of gray, black and white combos.
The accessories in this collection also carried the antique artistic theme and were clear in the spray painted rucksacks, perspex bags and artist’s portfolios.
The artistic quality and uniqueness of this collection which combines retro and modern in a new and exciting way makes it an interesting fashion moment in history and who better to thank than the eccentric fashion King, Karl Lagerfeld.

Ever wondered what the best fashion trends of 2013 were? Here are some runway to high-street trends that had us buzzing:
1. SHORT SUITS:
2013 marked the emergence of this style trend greatly inspired by Coco Chanel’s luxury suits with a much more wearable twist for work or day-time occasion.
2. EAR CUFFS:
We are absolutely smitten with this edgy yet cool trend. Ear cuffs give the illusion of faux piercings which is great for fashion lovers who want the look but who aren’t willing to go ahead with real piercings.
3. BOLD PRINTS:
Peter Pilotto Spring-Summer 2013
Growing on us as we were exposed to the versatility and character of this fabric, this bold trend was seen both on and off the runway in 2013 and included African Print, Plaid, Check, Stripes, Animal Print etc.
4. MULTI FINGER RINGS:
Made popular by celebrities such as Rihanna, Miley Cyrus etc, the multi-finger ring is predicted to be here a long time.
5. BODY-CON DRESSES:
As seen on ASOS
A better variation of the Bandage Dress in our opinion. The Bodycon dress was created with the female body in mind, hence, perfect for the chic lady who wants to keep it sexy but classy, making it one hot trend that we absolutely cannot get enough of.
These are definitely trends worth keeping…or not? Please share your comments.
