NEUTROGENA PINK GRAPE FRUIT RANGE OF PRODUCTS

Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash with Pink Grape fruit is such an amazing product. On a scale of 1-10, I will give it a solid 7.5 because it meets almost all my facial cleansing needs and nothing is perfect of course, LOL!  I have combination skin and this is a very tricky skin type because one can experience both oily (T-zone) and dry patches on the face.

BEAUTIFUL SKIN RESULTS

BEAUTIFUL SKIN RESULTS

After using this product, I noticed that my facial skin felt softer and moisturised than when I was using a bar-soap on my face. I also noticed a reasonable decline in the occasional monthly break-outs I got especially after being exposed to the elements as it has 2% percent salicylic acid a form of BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid) which have been proven to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, improve skin roughness and aid in reducing skin pigmentation disorders. BHA is also extremely useful in the treatment of breakouts and helpful in the management of keratosis pilaris, conditions that involve blocked or clogged pores which this product absolutely proves.

TESTING WITH MY CURLY WEAVE

My transitioning journey is exactly 7 months since the September of 2012 and I have loved every bit of it up till this moment. I guess it hasn’t really been difficult for me to keep up my naturally curly texture because I have been in protective styling for the most parts of my 7 month journey.

I am obsessed with weaves for some reason, so I almost never wear braid outs in my hair. For the most part, I have rocked straight to wavy weave textures but this period, I decided to make a switch to a 3C/4A curly weave. The name of this weave is Luxury Elegance Brazilian-Caribbean Curls.

Here is a hair chart video from Veronica J who I absolutely love on You tube showing the different hair texures.

Why did I make a switch to the curly weave? Well, it’s pretty simple. I wanted to know how it felt care for curly hair and to know the best techniques that would bring the best out my beautiful locks.

MY DAY ROUTINE

When caring for my curly weave which I am kind of using to practise for caring for my natural hair, i follow these simple steps.

1. I wet my luxury elegance Caribbean curl weave with water till it’s slightly damp (keep in mind that our curls love water) to make styling easier and to make sure that the conditioner and natural oils used penetrate deep within the hair shaft.

2. I use a spritz water based conditioner (any water based conditioner can be used)  and my hand as a detangler (comb occasionally).

3. Lastly,  I seal in the conditioner with olive oil glossing polisher from ORS to make my curls shinier and to prevent the moisture from to conditioner from evaporating from the hair because curly hair tends to be very dry.

When these three steps have been properly executed, I simply leave my hair to air dry and it yields fantastic non-frizz results. However, patience needs to be exercised when styling because you can ruin your hair look when you are in a rush so set at least 10-15 minutes aside for the styling of your curly hair.

MY NIGHT ROUTINE

I am usually so tired when I get back home from work so this routine helps me maximize my time and allows me to get the much-needed rest I deserve *wink*

I simply braid my curly weave into two sections and using a bobby pin, I pin both sections to the top of my head. Curly hair is usually very light so be sure that you have nothing to fear when it comes to neck pain or anything of that sort. Then I wrap my pinned up hair with a satin scarf (silk can be used) to prevent snagging or tearing when I sleep. Easy peasy!

Final Note:

Caring for natural curly hair requires patience and love but with time and consistency, you will be glad you transitioned to curly hair.

Futhermore, be very realistic with your hair expectations as I have come across many mis-leading hair bloggers who stated that their hair grew to waist length from chin length in  a short span of 9 months, please do not be deceived by such because hair grows on the average of half an inch per month for every hair type and the difference in length between people can only come through the rate of retention.

My point: Always remember to only set hair goals theat you are comfortable with and begin to see your beautiful locks start to flourish.

Stay Organically Beautiful,
